-- A 17-year-old boy was shot to death in broad daylight outside a home at 70 Tonawanda St. in Dorchester. A neighbor said that the shooter fled in a silver SUV, but no arrests have been made and no motives have been advanced in the killing. [BPDNews, Herald]

    -- Boston police arrested a 19-year-old man in Mattapan early yesterday morning for hosting a party in an apartment building that he falsely claimed he was subletting, according to police. [BPDNews]

    Boston Blotter: A 40 To the Head in Somerville

    -- A 30-year-old Somerville woman was arrested early Saturday morning for assaulting a man with a 40 ounce bottle of King Cobra, according to police. The suspect believed that the victim was courting the woman she believed to be her girlfriend, authorities say. [Somerville Journal]

    -- Cleveland Martin, a 22-year-old Roxbury man, was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison today in the 2005 stabbing of a Brookline cabbie who had been studying to become a minister. The killing took place during a robbery, for which Martin was also convicted. Martin's friend and co-defendent Heureur Previlon will be tried next year for the crime. [Herald]

    -- An 18-year-old man was shot dead early this morning in front of a residence near Healy Playground in Roslindale. A second victim, a 25-year-old, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. [BPDNews]

    -- A 50-year-old Melrose man faces charges that he stuffed his pants with a bunch of road flares, told a Revere bank teller that he had a bomb, and left a 72 word note instructing her to bring a bag of money into the bank's parking lot. The note, which was TL;DR, only prompted the teller to call the cops, who scooped up Bryan Sullivan and charged him with armed assault with intent to rob, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a hoax device.     -- Luis Marquez, a 26-year-old blind man from Brighton, pleaded not guilty today in the stabbing murder of a woman who was found dead in his apartment yesterday. The victim was 56 years old, and authorities have not revealed her identity or her relationship to Marquez. She was stabbed multiple times on her torso and head. Police say that Marquez, who reportedly suffers from psychological problems, admitted to the murder at the time of his arrest. [Globe]

    -- A 6-month-old child who had been kidnapped from his Gardner home overnight was found this morning in the trunk of an abandoned car. Paul Baez, Jr. was allegedly abducted from his crib by Jason Bisceglia, 19, a friend of the child's 20-year-old mother. No motive for the kidnapping has been advanced, but authorities suggested that alcohol and marijuana may have been involved. The child was taken to Heywood Hospital, where his condition is good. Bisceglia faces charges of kidnapping and child endangerment. [Globe]

    --Meet the allegedly worst colleague ever: Revere police officer Evan Franklin may be fired because he is accused of running away after Officer Dan Talbot was shot in the head and killed behind Revere High School. He is also accused of lying to investigators after the incident. The officers were off-duty but had been drinking before the incident. [WBZ, background: Bostonist]

    -- Richard "Pops" Picardi, Sr., a 76 year old cab dispatcher, was arrested Friday for dealing drugs from his Chelsea workplace. The Revere man was noted by police for his advanced age and his prosthetic leg. He faces charges that he sold the painkillers OxyContin, Roxicet and Percocet to undercover police agents over a period of about a month. [Herald; Globe]

    --This is the kind of story that makes you wonder about people. A fatal car accident unfolded early this morning in Sharon. A good Samaritan pulled over to help on the scene, and one of the men involved in the accident stole the good Samaritan's car. [Fox 25]

    --Two firefighters were stabbed last night at the Club Caravan in Revere. They were off duty at the time. [WBZ]

    --We were looking at the weekend crime stats provided by the Boston Police Department and were surprised to see that there were eight non-fatal stabbings over the Easter weekend. Call us ignorant, but that seemed like a lot of stabbings. But last weekend's report also listed eight non-fatal stabbings (the report itself is confusing: the headline suggests that the numbers are for a 96 hour period, while the first paragraph says it covers 24 hours. It also gives February dates--despite being posted on March 18. We're assuming the data is an accurate weekend compilation despite the inconsistencies.)

    --Five men were arrested for the stabbing death of Terrence Jacobs, 16, last May. Everyone arrested is from Dorchester, except one man from Brockton. [Boston Globe]

    --The search for the Northeastern student who had been missing since the day after the Super Bowl has ended. BPD detectives tracked him to Paris, France, and he has now contacted his parents to let him know that he is well. He better bring some baguettes back for his parents and the BPD. [BPD News]

    -- Update on the stabbing in Revere. Police have identified the suspect. 23 year-old Cory Roche, of Lynn, allegedly stabbed his mother to death in her home yesterday. Police responding to the incident shot Roche in the torso after he allegedly refused to drop a knife.

    --Revere police arrived to a crime scene today at 3:15 p.m. They reported a fatal stabbing and a non-fatal shooting. There aren't many details available at this point, but a source tells the Herald that the victim was attacked by her son. [Boston Herald]

    -- Four Salem High School students have pleaded not guilty to charges that they raped a teen girl in a Lynn home late Friday night. The four boys, three 17 year-olds and one 18 year-old, were arraigned Tuesday on charges of aggravated rape. The alleged victim reported the incident to police Saturday morning. [Globe; Herald]

    Republican presidential aspirant and former Massachsuetts governor Mitt Romney is the projected winner of the state of Massachusetts over John McCain this Super Tuesday, according to CNN. And that victory was by no means a given since Romney didn't exactly leave Massachusetts wanting more.

    --The police repeat that they don't want any post-Super Bowl shenanigans. [WBZ]

    --An MBTA bus driver lost control of his bus this morning in Revere. The driver suffered from an unspecified ailment and went to the hospital, along with two passengers. [Boston Globe, Boston Herald]

    Holy moly! An MBTA driver suffered a medical emergency and lost control of the 119 Northgate - Beachmont bus in Revere this morning.

    --More on the murder of a man at King Arthur's Lounge on Thursday: The shooting may have been the result of a gang rivalry, but the shooters and the victim were in the strip joint together for two hours, just coexisting, before the violence erupted. O'Ryan Johnson reports that the victim used to be with the Latin Kings. [Boston Herald]

    --Craig Bigos, who hit a teenager while driving in Taunton, took off, and later surrendered to police, admitted that he was texting while driving. He initially thought the 13-year-old he hit was a mailbox. [Boston Globe]

    --Early yesterday morning, a 16-year-old was shot on Columbia Road. According to the BPD, witnesses said the victim was taking out the trash when he got hit. His injuries are non-life-threatening. [BPD News]

    --A truck crashed on the Revere Beach Parkway last night. No one was hurt, but the incident shut down the parkway in both directions. According to WBZ, "State police officials said a truck went under the overpass on Route 107 North heading toward Chelsea and smashed into the top of the Route 16 bridge, bringing concrete down onto the roadway and damaging Route 16."     --A Scroogey robber attacked a USPS driver in Roxbury last night. O'Ryan Johnson reports that the robber cuffed the driver to the steering wheel of his truck, and then the robber went shopping. Here's a description of the perp:
