Two men were shot and killed in Boston this weekend in two seperate incidents. On Saturday night, a man was shot near Eustis and Dearborn streets in Roxbury. He was pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center. On Sunday, a second man was shot in Dorchester near the intersection of East Cottage and Sumner streets. Police are investigating both shootings. The Suffolk County District Attorney's office and the Boston Police announced 21 arrests and 31 indictments yesterday as a result of a monthslong undercover investigation dubbed “Operation Tanglewood." Ten more arrests could follow. The suspects, named at BPDNews.com, ranged in age from 20 to 55 and each one of them pleaded not guilty to drug charges at either US District Court or Suffolk Superior Court. Boston police arrested seven people during the public celebration of Boston's Stanley Cup victory and five people were in court Thursday to face charges Three were arrested for malicious destruction of property, one for assault and battery on a public employee, and another for inciting a riot, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. The suspect charged with disorderly conduct allegedly dared police to arrest him by saying "Come and get me, you [expletive].” He also allegedly extend his middle finger at the booking photo camera. Roxbury resident James Sanders, 18, pleaded not guilty to drug and assault charges after leading a Boston police officer on a foot chase following an apparent drug deal on Thursday. Sanders has no record. An officer approached Sanders after observing a drug deal. Sanders fled through Ramsay Park and was caught at Washington and Newcomb streets at which time the officer's weapon discharged. Sanders was treated at Boston Medical Center after being shot in the shoulder during the scuffle. He is charged with assault and battery on a public employee, resisting arrest, and possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute. His bail was set at $300 cash. Matthew Worster, 17, of Easton was arrested for allegedly killing his mother and burying her in the family's yard. Beth Spartichino, 42, was found on Thursday after being reported missing on Wednesday. He is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and intent to murder, and could be charged with murder after an autopsy. Worster reportedly told his younger brother he shot his mother. Worster's parents were divorced just two weeks ago. [WCVB] more ›

Two Roxbury men pleaded not guilty to interfering with a bus driver and assault and battery on a public employee for their role in an MBTA bus crash on Dudley Street on Monday. The crash began as an incident over smoking. Some passengers reportedly attacked the driver after being asked to stop smoking, forcing the bus out of control. more ›

An MBTA bus crashed into a building on Dudley Street in Roxbury around 3:30 p.m. and pinned a civilian under a tire by his foot. The driver reportedly asked a teenage passenger to put out a cigarette and was then attacked a group of teens, forcing the bus out of control and into the building. -- A student at Stonehill College was arrested by Brockton police on Monday for allegedly raping an eight-year old girl multiple times while working as a tutor in the federally funded America Counts program. The student, a junior, pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape of a child with force and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years old. He was held on $20,000 cash bail at Brockton District Court. Stonehill suspended the suspect after he was arrested. [Globe] more ›

Three men, one armed, allegedly robbed a D'Angelo's sandwich shop on Route 28 in Randolph and were arrested after fleeing the scene. Police found the suspects in a car less a a quarter mile away from the scene and the men were changing from clothes that matched the robbers clothes. Police found three blue sweatshirts, a black bag with money, a ski mask, plastic flex cuffs, and a BB gun. They were arrested and charged then with armed robbery. Shawn Drumgold, 45, of Fall River spent 14 years in jail for the 1988 murder of 12-year old Darlene Tiffany Moore, a crime he didn't commit. He was arrested with several other men on Wednesday on Cardington Street in Roxbury in drug bust. Police allegedly found heroin and crack cocaine in the apartment, and "cut-off baggies" on Drumgold. Drumgold pleaded pleaded not guilty to possession with intent to distribute heroin and crack and two counts of violating the state’s drug laws. He was released on $500 cash bail. He hasn't been paid the $14 million he was awarded in 2009 by a U.S. District Court jury. [Herald] more ›

A 24-year old man on a scooter died after being hit by a speeding car on Tremont Street near Columbus Avenue in Roxbury last night. The car kept going after the collision. Police are reviewing surveillance video footage and are seeking information from witnesses. Channel 5 says police used debris from the crash to determine the vehicle was an SUV. -- Six bridesmaids were forced to flee from a limousine as it was carjacked by a man armed with a hammer outside of a wedding in Dorchester Saturday. The suspect reportedly attacked the limo driver as the bridesmaids escaped, and them took off in the limo. He allegedly robbed a home before stealing the limousine. the limo was reportedly left on West Fifth Street. The suspect was at large last night. more ›

-- Seven people were shot, two of whom were killed this weekend in Boston. Luis Torres, 23, was shot and killed on Boylston Street in Jamaica Plan on Saturday. The Globe reported that the Torres shoting was possibly "gang-related." The paper also reported that 39-year old Tahitia Milton was murdered in Roxbury at the Quick Stop convenience store on Warren Street. She was shot by a man carrying an AK-47. Milton was a mother of four. The suspect was captured on a surveillance camera. [Globe] more ›

    • A week ago Saturday an abandoned warehouse fire in Roxbury turned into a nine-alarm blaze that required 150 firefighters to battle. The building fire was apparently caused by fireworks being used by people living there illegally. more ›

    -- Police seized almost a half-ton of marijuana worth over $1 million in Abington. Police said the shipment came from southern California and the marijuana may have come from Mexico. Police dogs were used in the bust as the marijuana was wrapped in shrink wrap, newspapers soaked in fabric softener and other layers.     • Police responded to reports of a person with a knife near Forbes and Centre Streets in Jamaica Plain. A witness, who would become the victim, told police he heard yelling from a second or third floor of a building. A male voice reportedly said “What! You want some of this?!” The male suspect came outside to confront the victim with a knife. The suspect charged and the victim fled while the suspect yelled “That’s right, you better run!” The suspect was arrested and charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon. [BPDNews.com]
    • A suspect was arrested and charged with unarmed robbery, larceny over $250.00 and receiving stolen property in Roxbury on Friday morning. The suspect knew the victim and was with her before the robbery allegedly happened. They argued and he took her purse and her suitcase. The victim's phone was in her purse so she couldn't call 911 until she borrowed a passerby's phone. After being provided with a description, officers located the suspect. As they approached him, he said "To be honest with you guys, I just found this down the street. I looked inside and saw all types of cool [stuff].” [BPDNews.com]

    -- A 10-year-old girl was shot in the leg Friday night in Roxbury while playing outside her house on Creston Street. The gunman allegedly rode up her block on a red scooter, firing repeatedly before fleeing through neighborhood backyards.     -- After allegedly stabbing somebody several times in Mattapan, a 29-year-old Boston man swiped a car equipped with Lojack, leading police precisely to his whereabouts, according to authorities.
