Kenny Johnson has been in a ton of movies and TV shows over the last couple decades but he's currently best known for his roles as Detective Curtis 'Lemonhead' Lemansky in FX's "The Shield" and as Detective Hamilton 'Ham' Dewey in TNT's "Saving Grace". We were pleased to see Johnson reappear on TV in "Saving Grace" almost immediately after 'Lem' was dramatically assassinated by 'Shane' in "The Shield" and we've been more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of the show, its great writing, and superb performances.

Part of us thinks that a team that's scuffling as bad as the Red Sox are right now deserves to have five guys named to the All-Star team. But we do recognize that the honor is bestowed upon players based on the entire spring's production, not just the last couple weeks of lousy baseball, so let's give credit where credit is due. Manny, Papi, Lowell, Beckett, and Papelbon are all going to San Francisco for some glitz, some glamour, and a year's supply of Rice-A-Roni.
The on-again off-again relationship (they've been creating rumors for months) between Macy’s owner Federated Company and Filene’s owner May company has solidified a merger deal. Federated will buy May company stores for $11 Billion. Macy’s has greater reach nationwide while Filene’s has fewer stores, most of them in New England. News sources expect that the Filene’s name will be slowly phased out. The merger will give Federated more buying power, positioning them better to compete with the likes of Wal-Mart. Of course there are many malls in the area that will be affected but Bostonist worries about the fate of Downtown Crossing where Macy’s and Filenes are separated by Summer St.
