If you were looking for a titanic defensive struggle, last night wasn't a game to remember. If you were looking to see two patient, methodical offenses chew up yards back and forth all night, you're probably pretty pleased right now. Most importantly, if you're a Patriots fan, you're extremely relieved this morning. ESPN.com, Boston.com, et al are reporting that Wide Receiver and former Super Bowl MVP Deion Branch has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for Seattle's 1st round draft pick in 2007. Branch had been a holdout through all of Patriots training camp, up until and including yesterday's 19-17 victory. While the Deion Branch mess has finally been cleared up, Bostonist isn't sure that this has improved the Patriots for the 2006 battle. The Pats......

OK, so this space is usually dedicated to musings and ramblings about teams from the hometown, but unfortunately, the Foxboro-boys bumbled and fumbled away a chance at a home-field AFC Championship game during the Denver debacle and Bostonians are forced to watch arch-nemesis Pittsburgh play the NFL's representative from the great northwest, the Seattle Seahawks in the biggest sporting event of the year, Super Bowl XL.
