According to WCVB and MyFoxBoston.com, Taunton police arrested Paul Baran, 55, in connection with Thursday's fatal hit-and-run that killed a 17-year-old skateboarder in Taunton. Nicholas Silva-Thomas, 17, was killed while skateboarding with friends near Watson Pond at about 9:40 p.m. on Thursday. The driver fled with the car's headlights off. Baran will be arraigned on Monday morning in Taunton District Court on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident. He was arrested at his Taunton home on Saturday. [MyFoxBoston.com], [WCVB] more ›

Salisbury fire Lt. Timothy Oliveria died Sunday from internal injuries suffered in an accident on Friday. Oliveria was a fire department mechanic injured when a truck he was working on fell off of a jack and landed on him. Investigators found 11-year old Celina Cass on Monday near a dam in the Connecticut River in Vermont. The West Stewartstown, New Hampshire girl was found less than a mile from her house. Revere police arrested the owner of Maya Transportation on March 2 for sexually assaulting a five-year old girl from Everett on a school van. He was arraigned at Chelsea District Court on Thursday and charged with rape of a child and indecent assault and battery on a child. He is held on $100,000 cash bail after pleading not guilty.
