When we arrived at the Middle East on Saturday night, Brad Caetano was on stage alone, with borrowed equipment, drumming up a storm over his looped guitar. Throughout AM/PM's opening set, which was later fleshed out with bass and saxophone, Bostonist could hear the usual Downstairs conversations roaring in the back of the room but, up front, the mood was that of a seance, interrupted only by appreciative mid-song applause. We, too, found ourselves......

Comedy --Tracy Morgan is in town. Watch the Track Girls the next day because something crazy is bound to happen. And if you see any Tracy-Morgan-related wildness, send a tip! Even the Comedy Connection felt pressed to issue a warning: "This stand-up show contains very sexually explicit material and the strongest language imaginable. Billy Connolly is performing for a week-long stint at the ART in Harvard Square and Bostonist was in the audience last night. Let us tell you right now - this show is well worth your entertainment dollars. Bostonist and our guest had suffered through a very trying day and evening before making our way to the theatre, and we were more than a little grumpy. The first two minutes of Connolly's act were enough to......

The findings of a scientific study recently asserted that this nation's college students are really into themselves. Since Boston is flush with colleges, this would mean the city is absolutely drunk on narcissism during the school year. According to the study, narcissists may love themselves, but that doesn't mean anyone loves them back: "[Narcissists] are more likely to have romantic relationships that are short-lived, at risk for infidelity, lack emotional warmth, and to exhibit game-playing,......

We've been asked a couple times about the particularities of voting in the primaries tomorrow. Bostonist doesn't claim to be an authority on the subject, but we've taken a stab at answering a few questions below. I'm registered Independent (or Undeclared). Can I still vote? The most common question we've gotten is if it's possible to vote in the primary if you're registered as independent or undeclared. Sure. Pick a party and vote in that......

Even if (as is our dream) Bostonist were the scriptwriter for an absurdist political sit-com, we could not have come close to crafting the amusing scene that unfolded around Mitt Romney as he actually rode the T yesterday to prove to all of us that orange-plus ain't that bad. First, he couldn't say how much a subway ride costs. Then he was harangued by a man (unnamed and homeless, according to the Globe) about his......
