The clouds parted and the sun rejoined New England for one afternoon, at least. It was breezy and pleasant downtown today for the 2009 Boston Pride Parade, which celebrated all things gay, from Batman and Robin to dogs, Deval Patrick to lifeguarding. Bostonist installed ourselves on Tremont Street, in a relatively unpopulated stretch of the parade route, across the street from King's Chapel, which allowed us to watch streams of tourists pass and be bewildered. "Isn't bewildering tourists what any good gay pride parade should be about?" asked a bystander. Indeed. Welcome to Massachusetts; being gay is legal here. more ›
