While Tuesday's crash on Storrow Drive was good for a few one liners on the internet, in real life it has caused someone a miserable headache (and we don't mean the hypothetical but clearly nonexistent keeper of the Longfellow Bridge). Over at b0st0n.livejournal.com, a user put two and two together after getting an email about a horrible moving experience over a local college's alumni list. The upshot? The drivers at Broadway Express moving company......

Everyone's doing it, so why can't we? MORE COWBELL! The Globe announced that highway officials are considering bringing back dangling cowbells under the warning signs before the Storrow Drive and Memorial Drive overpasses. The cowbells will be hung before the overpasses, so truck drivers will hear the sound of the cowbells and theoretically stop before they hit the overpass itself. Of course, if the truck driver/college student is blasting loud music or talk radio, no......

If you've always dreamed of owning a swanky Back Bay condo overlooking the Charles River Esplanade, you might get your big chance soon. All you'll need to do is stock up on the earplugs and fun-tak. Remember how the Storrow Drive Tunnel was voted Boston's most likely to collapse and leak on you to death last semester? And how maybe the only way to fix it would be to close the road and bulldoze......

--Follow-Up: The three people who were shot on Dubois Street on Saturday night may have been in the crossfire of a gang shoot-out. One of the victims was Joyce Gomes, a 68-year-old woman who was sitting on her porch. Gomes got hit in the leg. Wounded grandmas, white female tourists, and State Houses make Commish Ed Davis sit up and take notice. Expect another sweep of the Dubois Street area soon. The Globe has a......

It's like Punxsutawney Phil at Groundhog Day. It's not really fall until a student plows his or her U-Haul into an overpass on Storrow Drive. This particular incident happened on Saturday afternoon, and the driver didn't stop until he or she took the roof clean off the U-Haul! The pictures on WBZ show the roof of the U-Haul dangling from the overpass, like a rumpled bedsheet. Of course, the incident clogged Labor Day weekend traffic.......

A phalanx of U-Haul vans driven by college students has descended upon the city. Eventually, one of these vans will get stuck under an overpass on Storrow Drive. That's when you know fall is here. So Bostonist's writers have compiled a list of tips so both students and year-round residents can learn to coexist. 1. If you plan on attending the Sox game on Labor Day weekend, brace yourself. Some nitwit set up the schedule......

So there's this tunnel in Boston, the problem is that the tunnel is crumbling. So it's time to get a plan. A transit plan that will reshape the way Boston gets from one place to the other. Let's dig a huge system of tunnels build an elevated highway alternative route for Storrow Drive that runs over the Esplanade. The Storrow Drive tunnel has some problems. It's crumbling, it's leaking (back in the 50's they didn't......

We know that Massachusetts is the albatross around Mitt Romney's neck as he campaigns for the Republican nomination. We know he talks about us like an old fling he had, that doesn't really mean anything. And for the most part, it's mutual. But then we find out from the Herald today that the Romneys are stockholders in the YES Network, the TV network of the Yankees. So the whole time Mitt was in Boston -......

It's a wonderfully quiet holiday. But this Memorial Day weekend is typical in that auto accidents are populating the blotter. In Attleboro, a teenager died this morning after he lost control of his car and hit a guardrail on 95 South. The teen wasn't wearing his seatbelt. --A similar accident happened on Storrow Drive early this morning. A man driving without a seatbelt struck an SUV and rolled over. WBZ reports that the unidentified man......

By now you're probably either planning your strategy for Saturday's WBOS EarthFest or figuring out how to avoid Storrow Drive like the plague over the course of the weekend. With predictions of weather in the low 80s and partly cloudy skies, it appears that the folks over at BOS have picked themselves a beaut of a day to devote to free music and environmental friendliness at the Hatch Shell. For EarthFest attendees, it might seem......

Once you know how to use Storrow getting from your point A to point B becomes so much easier. Well, that is if you're willing to take a chance. The Herald reports this morning that they've reviewed documents and seen evidence of their own that the Storrow Drive Tunnel that runs along the Esplanade is in severe need of repair. It's something the DCR has known for a while; they've been looking into the best......

Paul posted a detailed description of his experiences as one of the evacuees during last night's Longfellow Bridge Fire, which shut down the bridge, the MBTA Red Line, Charles-MGH station, and Storrow Drive. By the way, Red Line service is back up now. Here's what Paul had to say (paragraph breaks and boldface emphasis are ours): I was one of the evacuees on the outbound red line train entering Charles/MGH on May 1st. It's difficult......

How's this for political gossip? Governor's Councilor Marilyn Devaney is in trouble for allegedly throwing a curling iron at a Waltham beauty-store clerk. The police report said Devaney shouted at the clerk, "Don't you know who I am?" Well, we didn't know who she was, and neither did the clerk. Devaney is an elected official who "approves Treasury payments, pardons, and judicial appointments by the governor….She is also a Watertown town councilor." Apparently that makes......

UPDATE: In their streaming newscast, WBZ has been showing the image of the "mooninite" from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. And, boy, is it funny to hear a straightlaced, gravitas-filled newscaster utter the words "Aqua Teen Hunger Force." But we don't envy who is behind this promotion. Governor Deval Patrick is pissed. Don't worry - everything is fine. But it seemed as if these circuit boards were popping up all over town. WCVB lists all the......

Bostonist has gotten in the habit of picking on Governor Romney these days, not just because we're a "Far Left Wing kook" (as one detractor would have you believe), but because Mitt just seems to set himself up for it. Case in point, the Guv's strong words yesterday in response to a traffic-snarling protest by Newton firefighters. Romney promised to order State Police to arrest the firefighters if they tried something like this again.......
