-- Terrell Muhammad has killed two people, one a Boston Police officer, but was released from prison in May of 2009. Since being released, he allegedly was involved in two crimes. He reportedly stole a TV from a Veterans Hospital in Providence in October of 2009, and received a suspended sentence with probation. He was arrested on Saturday after swerving at officers during a pursuit in Cranston, R.I. [Herald]
-- Boston Police, with the help of the FBI and the Staties, arrested a man they called the "drug kingpin" of East Boston. Ferney Pereanez, 24, faces charges that he masterminded a massive cocaine distribution network that brought the drug from Colombia into Boston and then distributed it across the state. He and 7 of his alleged confederates were arrested today on a number of related charges. According to the Suffolk County District Attorney, the arrests were "the result of a wiretap operation so extensive that it required federal funding and at least three Spanish-speaking translators at any given time."
