We visited Stoughton over the summer and it seemed quite pleasant. We wonder if something changed since July. Stoughton's police chief now has $67,500 burning a hole in his pocket and he wants to buy 45 stun guns with that cash. Sounds like a lot of 50,000-volt stun guns. Stoughton's town meeting has the final say in May. The Patriot Ledger says 61 local departments purchased the "less lethal" weapons since 2004 when Beacon Hill allowed Bay State cops to carry them.
