    These days, going to law school seems like a very bad idea. Everyone from the LA Times to the NY Times has pointed out a fact that has not escaped dozens of bloggers, many of whom are themselves unemployed lawyers. There aren't many law jobs out there these days, there are already too many lawyers, and graduates from low-ranked schools have little hope of ever recouping the tens of thousands of dollars in debt that they have accrued. more ›

    Yesterday's construction accident in Downtown Crossing, in which a bucket lift (also being called a crane) toppled over near the Brattle Book Shop, has proved fatal. One of the construction workers injured in the accident has died; the other is in serious condition. The workers had been inspecting a Suffolk University building. Reliable Roofing, which employed the workers, had been fined for safety reasons previously. Globe commenters speculate that wood placed underneath the machine or lack of stabilizers may have caused it to fall. more ›
