EdO'Connor took a colorful sunset capture of Boston in today's photo. The light streaks are indicative of a long exposure, and the blue/orange gradient in the sky is a really nice perk.

.laz seems to have put himself into the right place at the right time to get a terrific sunset picture of Boston. As the name implies, the slice of red nicely covers the city as blues and browns dominate the sky and water. The clouds are full of texture and substance, while the sailboats are a great addition to the Charles.
r_colameta gets us back to the basics with a photo of a golden sunset over Boston. Unlike Buffalo's Scott Norwood, this shot splits two of Boston's most famous buildings perfectly. This is a terrific silhouette.
Ed Karjala brings us this wonderful picture of the hub at sunset. The city is small and off in the distance which gives us the opportunity to explore the beautiful color gradients in the sky. The violets and pinks give way to yellows and oranges during a lovely evening here in Massachusetts.
"Wow." That was the first word that we thought of when coming upon this stunning image by minuteman1775. This image is the combination of two exposures, and also apparently a set of frozen buttcheeks. (Dedication!) The image gives you a chance to explore the reflections, the waves and the rigging of the ship set against a simple but beautiful sky.
Why not continue the accidental theme of the week and end with another beautiful summertime lust-invoking shot. Fantastic Cape Cod photog Chris Seufert took this stunning shot of a Chatham sunset and we were very impressed that no editing was used - those gorgeous colors are nature's own. Definitely take a stroll through his Flickr stream, he has tons of really great shots for your viewing pleasure. Have a great weekend everyone, and as...
Released last Tuesday, October 9, Sunset Rubdown's Random Spirit Lover is a record that both daunts and delights. Here, we muse on the contents after having spent a week attempting to digest this incredible combination of wild and majestic sounds.
With unseasonable weather descending upon much of North America, schools getting ready to reconvene, and sports seasons getting exciting, it's a busy time of year for us here in the Ist-A-Verse. Luckily, even with all the things we have to do, we still managed to get together to let you know what we've all been up to. After cooling down from a hot weekend of many badass Sunset Junction Street Fair photo dispatches, LAist asked...
We were deeply disappointed that a Boston chef isn't on the new season of Top Chef, but the Food Network picked Tommy Grella of Methuen as one of the competitors for "The Next Food Network Star."
Many a Broadway work has previewed in Boston before heading to the Great White Way -- and we strongly suggest that the musical announced this week follow suit. A Flaming Lips concert is in many respects a musical theatre event in and of itself. But there is buzz that the band will officially launch a Broadway venture with the help of a collaboration so bizarre that it just might be awesome: Aaron Sorkin. The fast-talking...
If you're not into traveling all the way to the Tweeter Center for Journey and Def Leopard, check out this week's picks. Even if you are into heading down to the big name act's show you'll need something to do the rest of the week. There's no joking about it this week. Fall is here. By the time the weekend hits it's time to break out the cider and make some pumpkin pie. We're saving that for Sunday, however, the rest of the week is for music.
With the weather cooling off this week and the end of summer fastly approaching, Bostonist was please to see that the restaurant, Noir, is keeping summer alive with a Tequila Fiesta tonight; $25 dollars will get you a taste of several different upscale tequila brands in margaritas as well as other tequila-themed drinks. If you've never enjoyed the experience at Noir, it is located in the Charles Hotel in Harvard Square. If you can't make it over to Cambridge tonight, but still want to enjoy the warmer weather and ability to find a parking space before all the college students return, head over to the Sunset Cantina on Comm. Ave; it is home to the largest selection of tequilas in Boston, and the bartenders there can make almost any type of margarita your heart desires. (Why is the Sunset Cantina better than its brother bar, the Sunset Grill, in Allston? Outdoor seating, of course.) Now only if the weather could stay warm year round.
Since Bostonist has this week off (thank you, April vacation), we decided to explore outside the city limits in a little place called Watertown. With a list of recommendations from a friend, Bostonist has been out exploring all that Watertown has to offer--like cheaper rents, great restaurants, and convenient location. Bordering Brighton and Cambridge, Watertown is close to the city, without all the crime, crazy people, ineffective local government, etc. that comes with living in those places. Today Bostonist strolled over to Coolidge Square to check out Cosmo's Ice Cream and Cupcakes, a great new addition to the already stellar offerings in that area. Bostonist initially cringed when asked to pay $2 for a cupcake, but it was totally worth it.
