While the real baseball season hasn’t even started yet, all Sox fans have been eyeing new Yankee Johnny Damon ever since that first press conference with his long locks chopped off for Steinbrenner’s organization. There hasn’t been much to comment on since Damon just recently returned to the lineup after sitting out since March 10th with a shoulder injury. (Not that it wasn’t a bit fun to see the replay of him missing that first pop fly when he returned to face the Devil Rays on March 25th.)
Nothing like a little bad boy publicity to get the book some press, huh? Johnny starts his book promoting next week, kicking off April 4th in NYC. He's making an appearance at Borders in Braintree on April 12th.
Speaking of the always changing weather, Boston has its own unique meterologist, which is not named Dick Albert or Barry Burbank. Now, Bostonist knows that many of you already know of this weather signal, but for those of you who are new to Boston and need a quick weather check, just look up to the top of the old John Hancock Tower. This building (now known as the Berkeley Tower after a taller, more dominant John Hancock Tower was built in 1968) has a light on top, which depending on the incoming weather pattern, will tell you what to expect. It has been in operation since 1950 and is pretty accurate. Bostonist was trying to recall the little poem that helps Bostonians keep the signals clear:
