...only makes you stronger. That has to be the attitude the Bruins take today, after having their winning streak stopped, killed, set on fire, stomped, buried, and the earth salted. The good news is, they will never play a worse game than they did last night. It was 6-0 Capitals in the first period. Alex Ovechkin had a hat trick before half the fans had found their seats. Tim Thomas got pulled, put back in......

The Celtics won their 24th game last night! That's what mathemeticians call a "significant figure", because they won 24 games last season. That was along with 58 losses, compared with 3 this year. So they theoretically could go 1-54 the rest of the way and still show improvement. But that won't work. They need to keep winning like they did last night in Seattle. The evening began as the Ray Allen Show; Ray spent several......

When the RMS Carpathia began hauling Titanic passengers out of lifeboats in the North Atlantic in 1912, those passengers probably didn't want to spend a lot of time reflecting about the food, or the music, or man's hubris. They were just happy to be alive. Was that too Nick Saban-y an analogy? Sorry about that. But that's kind of how we feel after the Patriots clawed their way to survival against Philly last night. The......

Any objective observer would agree that last night's game was a game the Celtics honestly didn't deserve to win. They didn't shoot well, they looked tired after the Laker game, and they were facing a Bobcat team that may have no identity whatsoever, but played with spunk and energy the whole time. Things looked especially dismal down two with five seconds to go. Paul Pierce missed a game-tying shot, and Charlotte got the rebound. Boston......

A somewhat abbreviated Redux, since we're preparing for our live-blog of NFL Armageddon this afternoon. Let's start with the bad and end on a high note. First, the Bruins. They went to Ottawa last night to play the Senators, who are 11-1 and running away with the Northeast Division. So now the Bruins know how it feels to play any of the other teams from Boston. It was close, and the B's even led at......

Are you a sci-fi kid who spent last night in Las Cruces Jail? Then saddle up and mosey down to the Middle East tonight as Two Gallants and Blitzen Trapper take the Middle East out west and down south for some down-home tunes that mix up AM radio, Old West swagger, and a modern hippie/hipster vibe to create loud and laid-back jams. You can almost hear sixguns cocking behind the rough guitars of San Francisco's......

One of the hottest tickets in town this weekend is the Big East matchup tomorrow night at the Conte Forum. The #6 Boston College Eagles take on the #9 Syracuse Orange at 6 p.m. Tickets have been sold out for months and the current going rate on craigslist for a pair is $300. (It doesn't help that the Forum only holds around 8,000 fans, while the Carrier Dome holds 33,000 for basketball.) This is......
