OMG, says The Globe, have you heard that Facebook can ruin relationships? Apparently, the Internet has developed a new, frightening means by which many thousands of people have been rediscovering old acquaintances, some of whom they want to sex. These "social networking sites" also allow partners to snoop on one another and obsess over real and imagined infidelity, leading to emotional ruin. Next week: Some people post comments to websites without fact checking.

After a group of thugs allegedly assaulted a man in Davis Square, he posted the whole thing on the davis_square Livejournal group. The cops couldn't help him out, but maybe the internet can. LJers are sharpening their pitchforks and giving legal advice. At the very least, prospects look grim for a cashier at the Davis Square Tedeschi's, who may have accepted a bribe from the thug crew.

ROFLCon invaded Cambridge over the weekend, storming MIT's lecture halls and colonizing the bars of Central Square with novelty t-shirts. Bostonist knows that the Internet is always talking to itself, about itself, but it was surreal to be in the room while that was happening.
