Boston-bred comedian Bill Burr gave us another incredible video tour of Los Angeles! This time it's the Hollywood Hills and Hollywood Boulevard. Burr plays Foxwoods on April 30th but if you can't get tickets to that, he will be coming to Boston on September 23 to play the Wilbur Theatre for a must-see show. more ›

A few weeks ago we reviewed multi-Emmy winning TV writer, stand-up comedian, and radio host Greg Fitzsimmons' memoir Dear Mrs. Fitzsimmons: Tales of Redemption from an Irish Mailbox, a book we thoroughly recommend you check out now that you've received all those great book store gift cards for Christmas, etc. We interviewed Fitzsimmons about his book and his start in comedy in the Boston of the late 1980s and early 1990s so check out the video. Fitzsimmons will be performing at the Wilbur Theatre on January 29th at 7pm. more ›

We were fortunate to go the the Macallan Master Class Scotch tasting event a couple weeks ago at the Royale. With our bitterly cold weather, the thought of a few drams of premium single malt Scotch warming our bones had us humming as we ascended the stairs to the showroom of the venue. Brand ambassador Graeme Russell took us through tastings of 8, 21, 25, and 30 year-old editions (and then some) of the famous highland Scotch whisky. It was both educational and entertaining as Graeme showed the group of about 80 Scotch enthusiasts films about how the Macallan is made and peppered the tasting with a banter that verged on stand-up comedy. more ›

Multi-Emmy Award winning Greg Fitzsimmons has been a huge success on television, radio, and stand-up but he got his start while he was a student at Boston University. After graduating he got his comedy chops in the many clubs that Boston had in the late 1980s with contemporaries like Sarah Silverman and Louis C.K. This era is just part of Fitzsimmons new memoir, "Dear Mrs. Fitzsimmons: Tales of Redemption from an Irish Mailbox" which we review here. Fitzsimmons will be coming to Boston on January 29th for a show at the Wilbur Theatre. more ›

"Saturday Night Live" alumnus Rob Schneider has been working on a new stand-up show for the past year and will be bringing his show to the Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee this Friday (December 3rd) and the Wilbur Theatre on Saturday (December 4th) for multiple shows. Although Schneider has been working primarily in film for the past 10 years or so, he was inspired to revisit his standup comedy roots after witnessing George Carlin's final stage appearance in 2008 and after hanging out with friend and fellow "SNL" co-star Chris Rock who urged him to get back on stage. Schneider shared his unique brand of humor and progressive views in our in-depth interview. more ›

We haven't had a chance to see Jim Gaffigan perform locally since we reported on his 2008 shows at the Berklee Performance Center. We're happy to have another chance to see him at the Wang Theatre on Saturday, November 13 at 7pm. Gaffigan is perfecting a whole new hour+ of material that he will be recording next year sometime so you will have a chance to see this show long before the masses see any kind of broadcast of it. more ›
