Lynn residents are raising money for the teenage shoveler who was mugged. A girl from Hingham got hurt sledding. There's actually a school for Tea Party candidates. Remember to follow Bostonist on Twitter and like us on Facebook.

Republican Bill Hudak is suing his Democratic opponent in the Sixth Congressional District race, Representative John Tierney. Hudak wants an emergency restraining order to stop Tierney from running television ads that Hudak says misrepresent his positions on mortgage interest deductions and other issues. Suing an opponent over mortgage interest deductions seems dramatic. We don't know if the suit has more to do with those Obama signs or not.
Pols love a parade. Usually. Candidates for public office are fixtures at parades from Fourth of July to St. Patrick's Day. Columbus Day in East Boston? Not so much.
Republican Charlie Baker will appear on WCVB’s "On the Record" (OTR) on Sunday. Clips of the interview are already available on the WickedLocal.com Massachusetts Politics Blog.
Governor Deval Patrick is fond of saying the 2010 gubernatorial campaign is a choice between different values. Bostonist would love to see an honest debate on what each candidate values in government. Lately, the candidates' exchanges have converted into lawsuits, dirty tricks, insults, and general weirdness. And we found that all on one page (see above) at the Herald's website. We love that the Herald is so concise and reliable in its tawdriness.
Governor Deval Patrick says he won't hire Tim Cahill if he is reelected in November. Patrick endorsed his current team, and said he plans on keeping them. Patrick respects Cahill, but won't give him a government job.
We know Tim Cahill isn't leaving the governor's race despite running mate Fredo Paul Loscocco ditching Cahill for Charlie Baker. The Independent candidate has actually gotten more aggressive.
Garrett Quinn wants Tim Cahill to drop out of the governor's race. He really wants Deval Patrick to lose, and thinks Cahill's continued candidacy works against that. He might gets his wish as Cahill's got a 2 p.m. press conference today.
Tim Cahill needs a dog. Dogs are loyal.
Charlie Baker leads in one poll, Deval Patrick in another. Regardless, it's a tight gubernatorial race.

We aren't sure if any voters found what they were looking for in last night's debate. Unless you were looking for insults and mudslinging, and then you were in luck.
Look for Gov. Deval Patrick to act like a frontrunner as a new poll has him leading Republican Charles Baker, 41-34. We thought that sounded cool. We assume Patrick is happy he's winning, though.
Massachusetts' lawmakers have been unable to agree on how to bring casino gambling to the Bay State for, well, awhile. Everyone has their own plan, but they share an assumption that casinos mean jobs. Do they? Or, did they just forget what happens when you assume? Lawmakers - - should observe the latest news out of Foxwoods. According to Boston Business Journal, Foxwoods' slot revenue dropped to $59.2 million in August, a 6.3% decline in slot win compared to August 2009. Foxwoods says the decline is a result of "prolonged economic conditions."
Despite having no contested primary elections, gubernatorial candidates still got attention.
Political season is upon us and so are endorsements.

We're thrilled that Republican Charlie Baker saw fit to link his campaign to a classic American comedy like . (We planned to suggest Ted Underhill until we realized he is currently deceased.)
Apparently, he spells it Glenn Beck.

Incompetent State Treasurer and future gubernatorial also-ran Tim Cahill is on a one-man mission to make Scott Brown look like a moderate, Massachusetts Republican. The man who once proclaimed that the state should lose a frivolous, lunatic lawsuit is now courting another group of lunatics by equating Muslims with terrorists. Cahill's job has long been assured by his lackadaisical attitude toward political patronage, but how many racists does he think Massachusetts has? This latest stunt has caused us to consider the imponderable: that Cahill is a Democratic plant designed to wedge fringe voters away from mild-mannered rich guy Charles Baker.

A great piece of investigative journalism in yesterday's Globe. A group of Northeastern journalism students, with the help of professor Walter V. Robinson, got the goods on our least favorite State Treasurer Tim Cahill. It turns out that cagey Cahill received a pile of campaign donations from out-of-state investors who just so happened to end up with a brand new infusion of investment money from the Massachusetts pension fund! Nothing illegal, of course, but it's all very, very shady. [Globe]
Tim Cahill, incompetent treasurer and independent candidate for governor, had a pow-wow with the Herald in which he slammed Obama's health care bill and said that Mitt Romney's health care reform in Massachusetts has failed.
