Update: The Glock-toter will be arraigned this morning in East Boston District Court. The DA's Office said his case was "admittedly banal" compared to all the other cases going on. The Transportation Security Administration is patting Logan Airport flyers on the back for not having weapons on them when they go through airport security. The TSA announced that the number of problem items collected by staff has dropped by nearly 60 percent, the Globe reports.......

A man slipped past screeners at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport around 8 o'clock this morning and has not been seen since. The Transportation Security Administration says that the concourse was shut down and about 15 planes were searched, but not before 12 flights had already taken off. These flights will be searched once they land. Wherever they're going. Did they land yet? Whatever. That's just great. Can I have my lighter back now? (MSNBC)......

A United Airlines plane travelling from London to Washington D.C. was forced to land at Logan Airport this morning after a 60-year-old female passenger became agitated, claiming fear of claustrophobia on board. This U.S. citizen had to be restrained by passengers and was arrested by State Police once the plane landed at Terminal E. We much prefer when planes are diverted to less populated places, like Bangor. It's a little disconcerting that this DC-bound......

Bostonist is no security expert and we don’t really know any either. We are a bit suspicious of a couple of new initiatives that we think may either jeopardize our civil rights or safety. As we reported earlier this week the legislature was considering a bill (it has since passed the House) that may open the door to some fourth amendment concerns. Today we get word that Massport will be expanding their “register traveler” program.......

The Back Bay MBTA stop was taken over by Jet Blue ads last week. They’re expanding their routes from the MassPort operated Logan International Airport, and taking the lease on Delta’s spot for Terminal C. Delta will move their service into the $475 Million renovation of Terminal A. With more gates and a brand new terminal Bostonist hopes two things happen: fewer delays and cheaper flights. The new terminal at Logan was designed and built......
