The truck rolled for Florida today. On Thursday (2/18), Red Sox pitchers and catchers report to Fort Myers for spring training.
Well, not an actual dictionary. We used the Internet. And even though Wikipedia informs us that you can't technically call it a "winning streak" until it hits three games, we're going to go ahead and award the battered Bruins the title after their second straight win.
The Globe discovered snow last week. Then we learned it's dangerous to sled on it. Now, it's dangerous to put it anywhere.
Well. That was disappointing. The Celtics' 12-game winning streak is over, thanks to a loss to the Lakers that featured trash talking, great shooting (in spurts), surprising physicality from LA, and some really interesting refereeing. 110-109 in overtime was the final.
It's a day that happens only in Boston, as far as we know. Maybe they do it in Milwaukee and Kansas City, but we doubt it; only Red Sox fans are maniacal enough to go out on a cold morning to watch some boxes be loaded in a truck. That's right, it's Truck Day - the day when the Sox equipment heads south for Fort Myers and Spring Training.
