Today we flipped on the radio for a bit of a dose of news. First thing we hear is about breastfeeding. The issue of the day was the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's approval of the "gift basket" with infant formula distributed to mothers in state maternity wards. Pro-breastfeeding groups had pushed for a ban on the distribution of free infant formula – before the Govnah stepped in and according to the Boston Globe "......

After a weekend of such incredible springtime weather and a Red Sox win on opening day, the rain sets in. The meteorologists are talking lots of rain and some possible snow over the next 48 hours. All Bostonist can think about is road trips. Fond memories of heading down 95 to visit the grandparents and Disneyworld. We're reminded of the signs which started somewhere in Jersey letting us know that South of the Border was......

In even more shocking news Bostonist is on the same page as Globe columnist Brian McGrory. The proposed Walk of Fame, an idea which St. Louis, Mo., Lansing, Mich., and Toronto, Canada among others have already stolen, would spice......

Bostonist was surprised to read the Boston Herald headline “Hotline: Get a crack at ‘The Nutcracker’.” From recent features in the Herald we’ve come to expect more racy headlines like “Get Crack at ‘The Nutcracker’.” The Boston Ballet production is playing on Washington St. in the Theatre District at the Opera House, close to the Common and the darker streets of Boston at night. We hoped we’d find a bit of juice in the Herald......

Unless they look down at the sidewalk and realize you are on the Freedom Trail or their heel gets caught in one of those damn cobblestones downtown, Boston residents can often overlook the history right around them. Well, when the Fourth of July rolls into the city, residents are almost slapped in the face with a six-day-long historical celebration for Independence Day. Boston Harborfest kicks off today at noon in Faneuil Hall with a 500......
