Anticipation, anticipation … Let's see what fresh weirdness is unfolding up in New Hampshire. You can bet there's a lot of it.

Tom Brady has had a lot on his mind as of late: the upcoming Pats season, the new arrival of lil' JET Moynahan, making sure to spend enough quality time with Gisele Bundchen. We get it. It's tough to be a multi-millionaire football star, famous hottie and anything-but-typical Boston guy.

Londonist are starting to think their city is getting just a little bit too expensive, when even Christian Slater can't afford to go out there. And there's no escaping, as local singer Lily Allen discovered when she was barred entry to the US. The British mapping agency caused further bad karma, by blocking a 3-D representation of London in Google Earth. But the smiles returned to Londonist's faces as they interviewed Baroness von Reichardt,...

Seattlest has a talk with the photographer from last week's "Segway Mom" and then experiences some dissension in the ranks over the question of wine vs. beer. It's not West Side Story, but about as close as they'll get. They're also still waiting on some inbox relief after a spammer is arrested. As Chicagoist counts down the days to its third anniversary party, they found all-organic pizza to be underwhelming amidst the hoopla, tried...

LAist is experimenting with blogging dates from J-Date, but finds the best men are found offline. Some date vicariously online and that is one reason why porn is big -- really freaking big -- so they ask if they should cover XXX since the heart of it lays in the city's San Fernando Valley. A writer grapples with her food porn photography obsession, another gets censored on Flickr, one gets scooped by the LA...

As promised, Bostonist attended our fair city's contribution to today's so-called "national day of action" to oppose a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that would make illegal immigrants' presence in this country a felony, and to support legislative efforts to grant amnesty to undocumented workers. According to the Associated Press, there were between 5,000 (the police estimate) and 8,000 (the organizers' estimate) marchers. On the ground, with no crowd-counting skills and only the...

The MTA, the one of New York City fame, not of Scollay Under and JP-nickel-exit-fare fame, isn’t running today. Gothamist is liveblogging it. Today they’re all strike, strike, "how'd you get to work?", and more strike. The transit strike in NYC has stolen the headline spot for all national news outlets. Now NYC seems to be trying to cheat Boston out of our nickname “The Walking City” with Mayor Bloomberg himself walking across to Brooklyn Bridge to work this morning.

Located on Mass Ave. in Cambridge between Harvard Square and Porter Square, Cambridge Common is a pub-grub beer-bar that caters perfectly to its college-aged crowd. This isn't an upscale place, but Charlie Christopher, owner of Christopher's, Toad, and West Side Lounge, has been keeping his Red Line crowd happy for years with high-quality, low-priced food. Busy almost any night of the week Cambridge Common's patrons range from music geeks waiting to enter the Lizard's Lounge downstairs, to law students just looking for a pint before finals.

But Bostonist must ask: why not bring "Massholia" to the Massholes in our fair city?

After 20 years on the run after escaping from Norfolk County Jail, Norman A. Porter, Jr., was arrested in the Windy City of Chicago yesterday. Massachusetts' authorities have been searching for Porter, who's rap sheet began in 1960 with executing a clerk at a Saugus store, helping to kill a jailer at Middlesex County Jail, and then escaping another jail in 1985; police were only tipped off recently when Porter's finger prints came up as a match in an FBI search. This case is a little different from others in the past, with Porter being a well-known poet in the Chicago area. After changing his name to "J.J. Jameson," he has been performing all over the city, focusing on antiwar poetry, writing two books, and being named "Poet of the Month" last March. He was also a leader at a Unitarian congregation in Chicago's West Side. Porter has also been arrested a few times since his escape in 1985, but Massachusetts police were never contacted; he is now in police custody and will be coming back to Massachusetts to face charges tonight. Porter has been on the Top 12 Fugitive list for the state since 1985.

Bostonist is sure that you have seen the movie that made you rethink about Moon Boots and an animal known as a "ligre": Napoleon Dynamite, a low budget film put out last year by MTV Films. If the bitter temperatures of this weekend have had you holed up inside, why not venture out and meet up with Napoleon and friends. The West Side Lounge is holding free movie showings on Sundays for the month of February. Tomorrow night is Napoleon Dynamite at 9 p.m. (next week is "Punch Drunk Love" with Adam Sandler). The bar here serves up lots of innovative drinks (from ginger martinis to blood orange margaritas), so ask the bartender for a drink menu. The West Side Lounge is at 1680 Mass Ave., between the Harvard Square T stop and the Porter Square stop.
