Ann Kireilis, 91, of Brockton died after a commuter train crashed into her car on Thursday at the East High Street crossing in Avon. The crossing’s warning system was activated 39 seconds before the train reached the crossing, and warning gates were down when the accident took place, the T said. The engineer hit the breaks, but couldn't stop in time.

Thursday's Thanksgiving football game between Agawam and West Springfield may be cancelled after an alleged hazing incident in the Agawam High School locker room, according to Superintendent Mary A.
