Our favorite WFNX DJ is not only the clever radio personality we know and love, he is also quite the talented photographer. This shot he took of Vampire Weekend at the station's recent Miracle on Tremont Street show is just stunning.

This past Saturday WFNX and The Boston Phoenix hosted the 2008 Best Music Poll concert featuring Death Cab for Cutie, The Presidents of the United States of America, Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls, Bob Mould, and Eli "Paperboy" Reed.

FNX has been on a roll lately, hosting two of the biggest indie bands on the scene right now, Band of Horses and Vampire Weekend. Both bands have a reputation for appealing to a hipster crowd, and while tight jeans, ironic T-shirts, and beards (oh-so many beards) were indeed prevalent at both shows, the main focus has been on the unique sound of both acts.

Attention all singles! Looking for something different to do this Valentine's Day? If you don't mind the early hour, consider making the trip to the WFNX studios for The Sandbox Morning Show's "Sandbox Singles Mixer." Aside from the chance to be part of a live studio broadcast and hang out with our buddies Charlie, Fletcher, & Special Ed, you will also enjoy live music from local Marty O'Malley, catered food from Ivy, and cocktails (A drink at 7 AM? Why not?!)
