Gene Wilder, known to many as either "Young Frankenstein" or "Willy Wonka", is appearing at Boston University's Tsai Performing Center on Wednesday night. He's in town to promote his new auto-biography, "Kiss Me Like a Stranger: My Search for Love and Art," where he hits on all the high (the role of a lifetime in "The Producers") and low points (his third wife, Gilda Radner, dying of ovarian cancer) of his life. While some look at auto-biographies as a tell-all of the Hollywood scene, Wilder tells a more endearing story, which has critics admiring the book. (He does dish a bt about clashing with some of Richard Pryor's views and reveals on the last page that the title of his book was a saying that Radner always used, but he never understood it.) WBUR's Robin Young will be interviewing him, with an audience Q&A to follow. The event starts at 7p.m.; the event is free. Tickets can be reserved starting at 5p.m.the night of the show. more ›
